The 2008 Volunteer Coordinator of the year is Woodie Davis from People Helping Others Excel by Example (PHOEBE). Woodie was nominated by Cheryl Batts, President & Founder of PHOEBE. Woodie’s professional background stems over 20 years as a security manager. Yet, she serves as a volunteer coordinator for PHOEBE and has even obtained her Certified Volunteer Manager designation. Woodie has even presented at a national conference on the significance of volunteering, the empowerment of certification and volunteer appreciation. Cheryl states in her nomination, “For someone who did not come from the nonprofit industry and never knew the depth of volunteering and its significance to the industry – she’s come a long way baby!” Woodie is pictured below with her nominator Cheryl Batts and AVCA State President Anthony McAdoo.
